Paul Restivo is an independent filmmaker based in Northwest Indiana whose work has been exhibited internationally. A dual citizen of the United States and Italy, Restivo draws deeply from his Italian-American heritage, which plays an important role in shaping both his personal identity and his creative practice. His cultural background informs the themes, visual aesthetics, and storytelling perspectives that emerge throughout his work.
Working across documentary, narrative fiction, and experimental film, Restivo brings a distinctive visual sensibility and thoughtful approach to storytelling to each project. His work reflects an ongoing interest in exploring the possibilities of cinematic form while allowing his unique perspective on visual design and narrative to remain at the forefront.
In addition to his work as an interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker, Restivo serves as Chair of the Humanities Department and as Assistant Professor and Program Director of the Digital and Studio Arts program at Calumet College of St. Joseph. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Cinema Production and a Master of Fine Arts in Film and Television Directing from DePaul University’s School of Cinematic Arts.
