The Year of Hope
5,000 Hours of Service in 2025
We are thrilled to join the universal Church in celebrating the 2025 Jubilee of Hope, a special year proclaimed by Pope Francis to renew our faith, inspire our hearts, and recommit ourselves to the mission of bringing hope to the world.
The concept of a Jubilee year has deep roots in the Jewish tradition, as outlined in the Book of Leviticus, where it was a time of restoration, renewal, and joy. Currently the Catholic Church has Jubilee years every 25 years. Pope Francis has called this Jubilee a time for reflection and action, inviting all to embrace hope as a guiding light in our lives.
At Calumet College of St. Joseph, we are proud to embody this spirit of hope in our mission and work:
- Through education, we prepare students to meet challenges with courage and purpose.
- Through service, we contribute to the well-being of our community and advocate for justice.
- Through faith, we walk together in unity and compassion, building a brighter future for all.
This Jubilee year provides a unique opportunity to reflect on how we, as a college community, promote hope both within and beyond our campus. As we celebrate, we will host special events, service initiatives, and moments of prayer to deepen our commitment to living as beacons of hope.
We invite every member of our community—students, faculty, and staff—to participate fully in this sacred and joyful time. Let us come together to honor our shared mission and continue to build a legacy of hope, inspired by our faith and rooted in the values of love and service.
Stay tuned for announcements about Jubilee events and opportunities to get involved. Let us embrace this year with open hearts and make 2025 a true Jubilee of Hope!
Sincerely,
Fr. Tim McFarland, C.PP.S.
