Graduation

Minor in Exercise and Sports Science

The Exercise and Sports Science (EXSS) minor is designed for students who desire a greater understanding of the physiological and biomechanical principles of exercise and fitness. The minor provides coursework in prevention and treatment of injuries, exercise leadership and instruction, and health behavior. The courses taken for this minor will prepare students to pursue all Level 1 Fitness Certifications necessary for coaching, personal training, group exercise instruction or becoming a fitness specialist.  Regardless of major, students who become certified fitness professionals can work on their personal exercise goals while earning extra income in a fitness facility on the off hours of their full-time employment.  There are also opportunities for full-time employment within the fitness field, with additional certification, if that is desired.  The faculty and instructors of the Kinesiology and Exercise & Sport Science program are always available to help you with whatever path you choose.
