Are you a high school junior or senior? You’re invited to participate in our inaugural Science Showcase Showdown! On February 29th, leap into the scientific future and win a $2,500 scholarship from Calumet College of St. Joseph.

To join the competition:

  1. Sign up
  2. Select and research an approved topic (below)
  3. Present your findings and ideas to a panel of judges
  4. The winner will receive a $2,500 scholarship to Calumet College of St. Joseph

Climate Change and Local Ecosystems

Objective: Investigate the impact of climate change on local ecosystems

Project requirements:

  • Identify a local ecosystem (like a park, pond, or forest)
  • ​​​​​​Collect data on species diversity, weather patterns, etc., over time
  • Compare Historical data (if available) to assess any shifts due to climate change
  • Propose mitigation or adaptation strategies to help preserve the ecosystem

Project requirements:

  • Identify drawbacks to CRISPR therapeutics
