Staszew is a 19-year sworn veteran of the Chicago Police Department (CPD), and has held multiple roles within the Department including patrol officer, community policing officer, school officer, in-service trainer, and Peer Support Program Manager. Her current role that of Sergeant at the CPD EAP Professional Counseling Division.
Staszew holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Traumatic Stress Psychology, and is licensed in Illinois as both a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She is the First Vice President of the Chicago Association of Women in Law Enforcement (CAWLE). Bea has presented at national conferences and continues to facilitate programs such as Stress Management within CPD, as well as providing consultation and training nationally for On-Target Solutions. Bea is an adjunct professor at Calumet College of Saint Joseph in the Public Safety Administration Program. Her clinical experience includes working with first responders to assist them in managing their overall well-being and providing wellness checks to members of various first responder agencies, as well as providing clinical services, supervision, and consultation in a group private practice
