George Devereux had been a member of the Chicago Police Department for 33 years until 2019 and was last assigned as the Deputy Chief of Patrol for the Chicago Police Department. He has also held past positions in the Patrol Division, Public Housing Unit, Area Deputy Chief's Office, Gang Enforcement Division, and Narcotics Division. In the fields of Public Safety and Security, he has worked for the University of Chicago Campus Police and held a position as a security supervisor at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chicago. After retiring as a sworn member, he was re-hired as a senior policy analyst for C.P.D. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from Western Illinois University in Spanish and a Master of Public Administration degree from Illinois Institute of Technology. Mr. Devereux currently works for the C.P.D. as a Senior Policy Analyst.
