Whiting, IN— Calumet College of St. Joseph (“CCSJ”) today announced the appointment of Dr. Ronald J. Tulley as its next President, following a comprehensive national search. He will assume the role on July 1, 2026, succeeding Dr. Amy McCormack, who will retire on June 30 after nine years of exemplary leadership.
Dr. Tulley has more than twenty-five years of experience in higher education and over a decade in senior leadership roles. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for expanding access to education, strengthening academic programs, and leading in a manner that he has modeled throughout his career: integrity, faith, competency, and balance.
“Dr. Tulley is a mission-driven leader who understands both the challenges and the opportunities facing higher education today,” said Board Chair Lawrence Meyers. “He brings the experience, judgment, and dedication to the mission to build on CCSJ’s momentum and lead us confidently into the future.”
Rooted in the values of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood (C.PP.S.), CCSJ has long been committed to serving a diverse and first-generation student population. The College has strengthened its financial position, improved student outcomes, and continues to expand opportunities for its students – momentum Dr. Tulley is poised to build upon.
“I have often said that Calumet College of St. Joseph feels like home to me,” said Dr. Tulley. “CCSJ’s mission resonates deeply with me because its students reflect my own background and journey. I understand firsthand the transformative power of faith, opportunity, mentorship, and belief in one’s potential. It is an extraordinary honor to join an institution so committed to access, service, and student success, and I look forward to working with the entire CCSJ community to build on its momentum and shape an even stronger future together.”
Located just minutes from downtown Chicago and steps from Lake Michigan, CCSJ offers associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in a supportive and student-centered environment. The College is known for its strong sense of community, commitment to access and affordability, and highly engaged student experience.
Dr. Tulley holds a Ph.D. in English from Case Western Reserve University, master’s degrees in English, curriculum and instruction, health informatics, and business administration, and bachelor’s degrees in both English and history.
