College Explorers: Tekton Media Camp
Registration Opens December 15
Grades 7-10
June 22-26
Storytelling, the hero’s journey, image making and design.
Participants will learn the basics of storytelling from professors and professionals in the film and media industries, using Mac production labs on campus. Students will study the origins of the “hero’s journey,” a storytelling archetype found in ancient myth and modern movies including the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They will learn storytelling, image making, and design with Adobe Photoshop, essential graphic design principles, and application-specific skills in order to design their own “Hero Poster,” celebrating a character of “substance and light.”
NOTE: Tekton Media Camp (9a to 1p) and Summer Theatre (1:30p to 6:30p) are intentionally scheduled back-to-back to give families flexible full-day options. Campers enrolled in both programs will enjoy activities and supervision between sessions, receive a snack, and be escorted by staff from one camp to the next so families don’t need to manage midday pickup or drop-off.
DETAILS
- Camp meets from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily
- A boxed lunch will be provided daily
